Lucy first had a one-page profile in Year 4, going into Year 5. She is now about to go into Year 8.
Lucy talked about what made a good and bad day for her at school and what helped her to have more good days. Lucy’s family shared their thoughts and said what they love about her. Time was spent with her teacher and with the teaching assistant who had supported Lucy for two years and had lots of information to share. They said what they like and admire about Lucy and what they thought was important to her at school and how best to support her. When her profile was written everyone checked it.
Lucy’s profile was updated each year and when she was in Year 6 a profile for Year 7 was drawn up. It was shared with all of the teaching team at her new school so they immediately knew what worked for Lucy at school. Lucy’s profile contributed to her Individual Education Plan.
