Cameron has had a one-page profile for several years and we update it together, as a family, each year. He has developed some effective (but sometimes misinterpreted) strategies for coping with his severe dyslexia. He is a very laid-back and funny boy and was struggling to engage with and enjoy school. Teachers needed to understand that Cam has to be able to see the point of what he is learning and is very rewards-focused. He is a natural politician and you have to negotiate with him, not just tell him.
When Cam moved to secondary school (where he boards weekly) his one-page profile went with him and helped the houseparents understand who he is. They said that they found this invaluable to help him settle in and wished everyone had one.
